How private is Sandy Cottage?

The cottage sits alone on a 4 acre peninsula with a 270 degree view of the lake. It is *very* private, as our closest neighbor is over 500ft away.

What is the waterfront like?

Our weedless sandy shoreline offers both shallow and deep waters.
One side of our peninsula, offers the largest sandbar on Lac Cayamant approx. 100ft from shore, making it ideal for kids (see picture).
The other side, has deep waters within 20ft of the shore, making it ideal for swimming and boating.

Can we have campfires at Sandy Cottage?

We have a large firepit surrounded with adirondack chairs just for campfires.
Campfires are *only* permitted in the firepit.
Fires must be supervised and kept to a manageable size.
Fires must be extinguished with water prior to leaving the firepit area.
Fires will not be allowed during local fire bans.

Can we have guests come visit?

For many families, entertaining is part of cottage life.
All we ask is that you respect our Maximun Capacity of 10 persons (including children) at all times.

Can I drink the water at the cottage?

The water at the cottage is drawn directly from the lake and UV treated. Our family uses the water wash dishes, clean fruits & vegtables and to cook with. However, for direct consumption we prefer using spring/bottled water. Guest are responsible for bring their own drinking water.

What's the fishing like?

There is excellent fishing at Lac Cayamant, with bass and pike being the most popular catches.
Please ensure that you abide by Quebec's fishing regulations if you do decide to fish during your stay at our cottage.

Can I bring my boat? Where can I launch it?

Yes, if you'd like to bring your own boat, please let us know ahead. Our boat dock does not have a boatlift or boat-whips, so we would recommend taking your boat out of the water in the event of storms or rough weather.
